The history of Andlil

Andlil was born from a simple desire: to keep a public journal of my trading. I had already been blogging since the early 2000s; in June 2010, I opened a new blog to track my positions on the French CAC 40 Futures contracts. The rest was written by the readers.

And the name? It means nothing: it was simply the first available website name starting with the letter A, short enough and easy to remember.

The major milestones

1. 2010 On June 29, first post: I announce a blog to track my trading on CAC 40 Futures, which opened in mid-July.
2. 2011 The 8:30 a.m. stock market update becomes daily. In September, I open the forum: a discussion space protected from the mediocrity of the Internet, courteous, polite, and kind.
3. 2012 On July 1, I open my YouTube channel: my analyses and my trading can now also be followed on video, in addition to the blog.
4. 2013 The most prolific year: over 800 articles, including guides and glossaries for learning. The popularity of the site explodes and the forum grows so fast that I am completely overwhelmed.
5. 2015 On January 15, I publish the first “Good Morning Trading” on video, my session preparation shared every morning with the community.
6. 2016 In July, I entrust the site to Captain Trader, a subsidiary of IT-Finance, parent company of ProRealTime, which takes charge of the technical management of the server: I dedicate myself to writing and to my trading.
7. 2019 In May, the forum crosses the one million message mark: daily mutual support between beginners and experienced traders, which has never faltered.
8. 2022 Andlil is cited by the French business magazine Challenges. The same year, I open my Trading School, for those who want to go further.
9. 2024 Andlil receives the Grand Prix d’Excellence “Best Stock Market Blog and Forum”, awarded by the IAT agency at the Salon de l’Analyse Technique, a French technical analysis trade show.
10. 2026 The forum exceeds two million messages, and the blog is reorganized into seven sections. The blog, the YouTube channels and the podcasts open up to English, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.

Why did I entrust Andlil to Captain Trader?

Overwhelmed by the success of the site, incapable of managing this evolution technically (managing a large dedicated server is a profession) and no longer having time to simultaneously handle the time-consuming management of a site of this importance and do quality trading, I then sold the site in July 2016 to Captain Trader, a subsidiary of IT-Finance, parent company of ProRealTime, so that it would take charge of the technical and time-consuming aspects of the site.

The partnership is obvious to me: ProRealTime Trading offers both the ProRealTime trading software and the 2 brokerage offers, the one to trade Futures and also the one to trade limited risk CFDs with brokers that I have been using for my own trading since 2004 and 2011 respectively.

I wish to make clear that I do not receive any affiliate fee, commission, retrocession if you trade live, or account opening bonus, whether you open a real account or whether you open a Demo account with ProRealTime, IG, Interactive Brokers or any other broker.

This evolution thus allowed me to keep the most interesting part for a blogger, writing and content creation, while allowing me to trade serenely, no longer having the time-consuming technical tasks of managing a site.

The forum (in French) remains the heart of Andlil: it is where we talk trading every day, compare our ideas, and learn from the mistakes of others. Around it, the blog covers trading, economics, history, news, psychology, lifestyle and life in Andorra; the videos and the podcasts extend it all.

What has not changed

Since the first post, the rule has been the same: real trading, told honestly, without any promise of easy wealth. Andlil is free, and will remain so.
