Benoist Rousseau

I have been trading since 1994, teaching since 1998, and writing on Andlil since 2010. Between the three, a single thread: understanding what moves the markets, and passing it on without embellishing anything.

My background, in a few dates

1. 1994 My first trades, alongside my studies. Since then, I have never stopped being active in the markets: over thirty years of trading.
2. 1996 Maîtrise d’histoire in contemporary economic history at Paris IV Sorbonne, a four-year French university degree, with highest honors. Economic history taught me to step back from the markets when everyone starts to panic.
3. 1997 I become the exclusive trainer for the senior executives of a multinational company in the French CAC 40: passing on knowledge is already my profession.
4. 1998 I become a certified teacher of history, geography, and civic education: I taught for twelve years, while continuing to trade.
5. 2004 I become an entrepreneur, in web SEO, alongside teaching and trading: three professions managed simultaneously for six years.
6. 2006 I open my account with Interactive Brokers: it is still the broker I use to trade Futures, twenty years later.
7. 2010 I leave France’s national education system to trade with my own capital and I create Andlil: a blog, then a forum, which has become one of the largest French-speaking trading communities.
8. 2016 I entrust Andlil to Captain Trader and I become a consultant to a major player in the trading platform industry.
9. 2019 I publish Devenez Trader Pro, which became a reference work on trading in the French-speaking world, later translated into English and then into Spanish.
10. 2020 I pass the professional certification of the AMF, France’s financial markets regulator, for market participants: 100% on part A, 99% on part C.
11. 2022 The French business magazine Challenges ranks me in the top ten economic influencers. I open my Trading School, for those who want a program and guidance.
12. 2024 Andlil receives the Grand Prix d’Excellence for “Best Stock Market Blog and Forum”, and I become the owner of a seat at the CME and a seat at the CBOT in Chicago.
13. 2025 I become a consultant for an international stock exchange, while continuing to trade and teach every day.
14. 2026 LinkedIn recognizes me as a “Top Entrepreneurship Voice”, and Andlil opens up to English, German, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese.

A trader who trades

I personally own a seat at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) — Individual Member (IOM), 1,287 seats in the world — and a seat at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) — Individual Member (IDEM), 641 seats in the world: very few retail traders are accepted there.

I have been trading on ProRealTime for over 10 years. What I write here comes from there: from the screen, not from a theory. I do not promise easy wealth; trading is a profession, which requires rigor, work, and flawless risk management.

Trading is my passion, history my training; the rest follows from that. On the blog, I write about trading, economics, history, current events, and psychology, but also about the art of living, and about Andorra, where I have settled. On the forum (in French), the community interacts every day.
